Hyaluronic Acid - Did you know?

Beauty through science. Your questions about this mysterious compound answered here.

YOUR GUIDE TO BOTOX & FILLERS

When considering Botox or fillers, here is a handy checklist of things to consider from your practitioner.

IS YOUR PRACTITIONER EXPERIENCED?

Good practitioners have happy clients who always come back to them. We pride ourselves on making our clients happy. Always remember that you deserve the very best!

DO THEY HAVE A DEEP UNDERSTANDING OF FACIAL PROPORTIONS AND AN EYE FOR BEAUTY?

Unfortunately there are many qualified  practitioners out there who have the necessary skills but they lack the artistic flair and deep understanding of facial proportions to deliver results that will truly make their clients shine. Every person is different, and your practitioner should be tailoring your treatments to what is right for you. We pride ourselves on striving to deliver natural looking and beautiful results in line with our clients' wishes.

DO THEY PRIORITISE YOUR SAFETY?

Your practitioner should have a thorough understanding of facial anatomy and the most suitable products for you. Your safety is the most important thing, so steer clear of practitioners who over-recommend treatments. When it comes to fillers, it is always wiser to build slowly over a number of sessions rather than to over-inject in one session. When it comes to safety, our client's wellbeing is our greatest priority.

WHAT PRODUCTS DO THEY USE?

There are many types of injectible fillers as well as many types of Botox. We pride ourselves in using only the highest quality products with a proven track record in safety. Feel free to ask us more about what product is best for you.

Hyaluronic Acid

What is it?

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a sugar found naturally in our skin that holds water and helps keep it hydrated and plump.

The HA within our bodies holds a thousand times its weight in water to not only retain all that moisture in our skin and joints, but also prevent all that moisture from evaporating into the air, according to Dr. Lily Talakoub, a dermatologist at the McLean Dermatology and Skincare Center.

Just like collagen and elastin, the amount of naturally-occurring hyaluronic acid in our bodies decreases as we get older.

Our dermal fillers consist of non-animal derived hyaluronic acid. By introducing hyaluronic acid into the skin, the skin is better able to retain its moisture and elasticity. Dermal fillers also stimulate the skin to produce more collagen which further adds to its natural glow and elasticity, hence further delaying the signs of ageing.

But of course, sculpting the face needs to be done by expert hands as incorrect placement of fillers can also take facial features out of proportion and create an unflattering appearance.
